Type design course
As part of a type design course during university, our objective was to craft a typeface that resonated thematically with the focus 'Vulgar Display of Power'. During the process, we also collected daily headlines and their accompanied images to go with our typeface. My approach was designing a serif font, given its enduring association with conveying the importance of something or delivering seemingly serious news. The resulting 'Inhabits' typeface was exclusively rendered in uppercase, mirroring the cacophony of our modern world, where headlines try to outdo each other in volume and impact. Following the font creation process, I transitioned into the layout team, collaborating to integrate our fonts and curated materials into a newspaper's format.
